KGR (Pty) Ltd is a surface rehabilitation company, actively working for mining companies along the West Coast of South Africa for the past 23 years. We specialise in the rehabilitation and restoration of mined out areas, restoring them to their original state as far as possible.

KGR is 100% BEE, with a level 1 contribution.

Our Key Personnel

Gert has been part of KGR for the past 22 years. Various jobs have taken him all over South Africa for almost two decades. He returned to Lepelsfontein for the birth of his only daughter and decided to join KGR. This allowed him to sleep at home at night for the first time in his working life.

He started out as general employee and quickly worked his way up the ladder. With his work ethnic, reliable and honest disposition plus strong leadership skills, Gert is an indispensable part of the team. He manages the whole of the rehabilitation process – from stabilising the topsoil to removing nets after sufficient ground cover has been established.

Gert lives in Lepelsfontein, is married to Lena and has 3 children.

Basjan has been with KGR for the past 16 years. He also grew up in Lepelsfontein. His previous jobs kept him away from home, only seeing his family over long weekends and holidays. Family responsibility brought him back to Lepelsfontein and he applied for a job at KGR.

Basjan took up the position of Nursery manager. This position suits him like a glove. As an emerging weekend farmer, he loves nature and being outdoors. He empowered himself with knowledge of soil types, plant species and the animals and insects that roams the veld. Basjan takes responsibility of the search and rescue teams as well as over seeing the maintenance of equipment.

Basjan has a calmness about him that positively affect everyone around him. His strong and disciplined personality made him an ideal choice to take care of KGR’s nursery and plant allocations..

Another native of Lepelsfontein, Henry joined the company 13 years ago. He worked at several companies in Cape Town and surrounds. Due to a serious car accident that hospitalised him for several months, Henri decided to come back home, where he applied for a job at KGR.

He is a strong and confident leader. His strong moral compass enables him to offer life-skill mentorship and guidance that is beneficial to all employees.

As Services manager, Henry is responsible for 6 work teams, which he manages with distinction. He has the confidence to act as mediator between KGR and its clients.

Social Responsibility

KGR takes social responsibility towards the rural communities where our workforce hails from and is involved in various upliftment projects.

These projects include sponsorships to school going children who have to participate in sports far from home, even overseas, and feeding schemes. Sponsorships are also given to sports teams, schools and choirs.
